As we looked more closely at legal work, one thing became clear: every matter builds context.
A hearing adds an observation. A document adds facts. Research brings relevant provisions and authorities. Drafting develops arguments. Conversations, notes and decisions add knowledge that becomes useful as the matter progresses—and often remains valuable long after it.
We saw an opportunity for technology to help keep more of that context connected and useful.
And as AI became more capable, the opportunity became even greater. But we didn't want to build another generic AI tool around law. We wanted to build something around legal work itself—where AI could assist with understanding, research, analysis and drafting while the professional remained in control.
